Mum's Are More Than Just Decoration!
It’s mum’s season in gardens! Most people don’t realize that Chrysanthemum flowers can be used medicinally. Most commonly it is used as a tea, with the white and yellow varieties used most. Chrysanthemum can help alleviate high blood pressure, headaches, insomnia, dizziness and help with symptoms of a cold. In traditional Chinese medicine it is considered to be slightly cooling and has a combination of pungent, bitter and sweet properites. It will clear heat, help to detoxify, disperses wind, pacifies the liver and enhances vision.
Steep 6-8 dried flowers per cup for 2-3 minutes (and the flowers can be re-steeped 3 or 4 more times)
